Cornish Nomad Golfing Society
Annual Safari 2022
15, nearly 16 Nomads and Guests signed up for the 16th Annual Safari to Portugal. We left on the 3rd May flying from Newquay to Faro, returning on the 7th May. The group were based at The Salgados Palm Village. The weather was absolutely glorious over the period of time we were there. The three days golf was played at Salgados golf course which has plenty of water hazards and a multitude of palm trees.
Results were as follows:
Day one: (Secret pairs) 1st Roger Nicholas & Julian Richards 57pts. 2nd Jim McKenzie & Laurie Sheppard 54pts.
Day Two: (Texas Scramble) winners :Clive Bicknell, Jim McKenzie, Jon Allen & John Stanforth with a gross 67 net 62.6.
Day Three: (Four Ball Better Ball) 3 man team won! Julian Richards, Mike Martin & John Stanforth. 38pts. 2nd place Roger Nicholas & Graham Cowls. 37pts winning on back 6!
