Nomads Golf Society "Safaris"

Albert Wright a Founder Member organised the first Safari in late 1970, when 24 members travelled by coach to Bristol Airport flying to Majorca, at a cost of £29.50 incl flights, hotel full board and golf. Several similar safaris followed by visiting Jersey, Bournemouth and ended in the early 80's with similar groups making Florida and U.S.A their destinations.

It was not until 2005 when John Rich,Brian Lord,Richard Pearce and Douglas Richards revived the Safaris by visiting Benodet, Brittany and annual tours have continued since then. The tours are based on 16 - 20 members hiring mini coaches using Brittany Ferries services via Plymouth and Roscoff.

Having travelled every year since 2005 to Brittany and Normandy the Committee in 2018 decided to make a bold change. With the support of the Society it was decided to go to Portugal for the 2019 Safari and what a success it was too. 20 members and guests went on this Safari. This first Safari to Portugal can be found under the sub page Safari 2019.
